colorful condo conversion
We gutted the interior of this 1960's built 550 sq. ft. apartment condo in central Calgary, removing the layers of age and previous partial renovations.
After cleansing the space we clarified the interior planning, relocating doors and walls and injecting energy and vibe with colour.
It was really important to use color to create personality in an otherwise boxy apartment, creating character enhanced with and eclectic mix of transitional and contemporary furnishings.
The South-facing apartment has plenty of natural sunlight, so it was easily able to handle the enveloping terra cotta color on the walls of the living area, with accents of indigo, mint and champagne (in the bedroom).
The space feels significantly larger than its actual square footage and is finished off with original art and accessories to enhance the effect.
It is noteworthy to mention that the owner of this apartment did not buy into the 'paint everything neutral to maintain resale value-. A few months after doing this colorful update, the apartment was sold in less than one day on the market!
